Aldershot News - Wednesday February 27th 2008.

A self employed couple have been given a five star holiday to Thailand in recognition for expanding their business.

Steve and Rosemary made the momentous decision to emigrate from Canada to England and set up their own distribution company six-and-a-half years ago.

They deliver catalogues from home shopping company Kleeneze to their neighbours and help new team members build their own businesses across the country.

The couple boosted their business by 20% last year, qualifying for an all expenses paid trip to the Kleeneze conference in Phuket and Bangkok.

Ms Rowntree and her husband worked for themselves when they lived near Toronto but were concerned about not having a pension plan. "We were in England visiting St

eve’s mum and saw an advertisement for Kleeneze. As we had tried network marketing in Canada, when we saw how the retail side of Kleeneze works, we knew we could build a business" she said.

"We developed a customer base and went from there. I deliver the catalogues locally on my bicycle and we have many team members around the country doing the same”

Customers order items from the catalogue through the couple, who receive the merchandise from Kleeneze and then deliver it themselves.

Mr Johnson, who lives with his wife in Lower Farnham Road, Aldershot, said he liked being his own boss.

"We had eight foreign vacations last year because of the way we're able to manage our time and business." the 61-year-old said. "When you go to these conferences it's a real opportunity to share ideas with other distributors and have a really great time. They really look after you well."

The couple leave for the trip this weekend and can will be enjoying 7 days of fine dining at the Sheraton Grande Laguna Hotel in Phuket and the 6 star Oriental Hotel in Bangkok with numerous excursions in between.

Michael Khatkar, Kleeneze's head of sales said: "We believe that recognition for hard work is the key to business success and is vital in keeping distributors loyal and motivated. We continually reward our teams for their effort and commitment.

"Steve and Rosemary have demonstrated willingness to succeed and given their all since joining the business so it goes to show that hard work and determination can pay off."

Kleeneze specialises in a diverse range of home, garden, health, beauty and gift products through their catalogue.

Company sales over the past four years have topped £300 million, £154 million of which has been paid to its distributor network in bonuses.

Kleeneze has also taken us to Monte Carlo, Budapest, Mauritius, The Caribbean and last year to Cape Town in March and Hong Kong in November. We did not join Kleeneze to go on holiday but it sure is a great bonus!!
